Google AdWork - Real Job or Clever Scam?

Apr 29th, 2011 Steve Albright

This day and age it seems like many people are looking for at home work that they can do at their computer. It's pretty clear why there is such a high demand for this coveted work but in your job search it's important not to forget to be prudent, and research all opportunities, as is the case with the purported Google AdWork Job.

While browsing internet opportunities I came across several sites that were advocating a new type of online job to do AdWork for Google. Now I know a few things about working with Google so I was initially surprised by these posts and claims. This led me to research the question what is Google AdWork and is it for real.

The first thing that you should know is the legitimate ways to work with Google, of which there are 3. The first is to have Google place targeted sponsored ads on your website, then whenever your visitors click the links you get paid a percentage of what that keyword is worth to the advertiser.

The second way to work with Google is through affiliate marketing and using Google Adwords to place advertisements for products that you are an affiliate for and making money through commissions. This is a risky venture for newbies as you can easily lose money before you make any.

And finally, the last way to work with Google is to actually get a job at the Google-plex in California. This last one is obviously the least feasible way to work with the company unless you are highly educated and qualified to work at the search engine giant's office. Interestingly enough there is no mention of a position for Google AdWork.

The reason for this is that the opportunity simply does not exist; it's a fabricated name for two of the above mentioned ways to work with Google. The marketers selling the kits to along with this AdWork fantasy job are selling you a kit on how to use Adsense and Adwords.

The reason for the name change is that it sounds more like a real job, something that you are actually applying for. However do not be fooled by these offers as they are only reselling rehashed information that can be easily found online for free.

To make matters worse they are disguising their offer as a real chance to work for the search engine company which is simply not the case. In fact it is the furthest thing from the truth, if you take a look at the fine print you will see a clear indication that Google does not endorse or is in any way related to the Google AdWork opportunity.

These marketers are simply using the recognized name and logo to lure in uninformed customers who are deceived into believing that they are actually working with the company. Now, Google itself has taken sweeping actions to remove these offers from their sponsored ad results but they always find a way to make it back, and once Google AdWork gets banned they will move on to something else to replace it with.
